25 on the 26th -- The Next Exciting 25 Years!

Some people may find this post to be rather amusing. To me... it is rather traumatic.

So, on Sunday, I turned 25 years old. Wow. That's just sick. Now, I'm aware that I'm much younger then a portion of my many readers. But, think back to when you turned 25... I mean, it's sorta traumatic isn't it?

Last Sunday was the first time in my entire life that I didn't secretly look forward to my birthday. I was actually bummed out about it. You all saw what my Dad said about it being "half of my productive life..." and I know that was probably just a pessimistic way of looking at it, but still, what good thing happens at 25?

My car insurance is going to drop I think. Oh, and I can rent cars now. Yay for 25!

My life is so boring right now. I think I'm going to go camping or something. I wake up everyday, and lay in bed thinking about what I'm going to do. It's sorta weird. After you've been going to school everyday for 20 years... you sorta start to depend on it to fill you day up. I feel so unproductive. I got two classes to go before I graduate. What the hell am I going to do afterwards? I guess, I'll update my blog more often.

Then again, I may not have very much to write about... if the only thing I do everyday is update my blog. lol

So if you read this entire blog... congratulations, you must pretty desperate for some entertainment. If you were even a third as bored reading this as I was writing it, you may very well be near hanging yourself. Don't do it.

Death By 4-Wheeler & A Tattoo

Ok, so this one has the potential to be a doosie. I'll see if I can keep it under control.

Last weekend, I didn't have to work. I arranged to have the time off so I could go to a funeral for my Aunt's mother. She was an 80 year old woman, that apparently crashed on her 4-Wheeler and died. What the Hell?? I think I'll avoid the questions we're all asking ourselves. I didn't really know the lady, but by going I was able to see a lot of family that I don't see very often, cause I live so far away.

I left a bit late on Friday for my little hour and a half road trip, so everyone was a bit irritated cause I was making them late to dinner. Not to mention, I hit the most amazing head wind. I couldn't believe how hard the damned wind was blowing. So, that cranked my driving time up to about 2 hours, and murdered my gas mileage. I seriously got like 10 mpg.

So, I got there late, and everyone had eaten -- so I had a granola bar. ':o|

My grandmother was there, with my Mom, her sister my Aunt, and her two boys. I was excited to see everyone, cause for some it's been over a year since I've seen them.

My grandmother recently remarried after the death of my grandfather. She essentially has been alone for 10 years, while he's been sick with Parkinson's Disease. So, I guess once he died, she was ready to have a companion again. It was hard for her at the funeral cause it was the same cemetery that my Grandfather was buried at. She broke down pretty hard when she was in front of the gravestone. (Which was a really cool one by the way.) I don't know, maybe she felt guilty for having remarried so quickly. ??

I got there and 'chewed the fat' with everyone for awhile, but since they'd just driven 12 hours from CA, they were pretty hammered. I ended up sharing a room with my cousins. I use to hang out with these guys ALL the time growing up. They're like my brothers. Well, both of the were chewing tobacco! Ugh... GROSS...

So, I'm not a smoker... but geez, I would rather smoke then chew tobacco any day! I KNOW you've seen the pictures of a chewers gums... etc.

Then one of my cousins, shows me his new tattoo. My hell... I could not believe it. Not only was the thing HUMONGOUS (reaching from one shoulder to the other, and the bottom was all the way to his belly button) But it wasn't very, um... appealing. ;o)

It was a giant catholic style heart (with Christ's crown of thorns) and then like angel wings coming off of it... It had banners flying off of it, that said, "Gone, but not forgotten" and then a bunch of smaller banners that had peoples names that he apparently had known that died.

Now, I'm not saying that the thought wasn't nice, but it was a little overboard. (In my opinion) I guess my problem is that, IF I was to get a tattoo... I would probably go about it in a more discrete and probably more unique way. I don't know... I'm probably being judgmental, but I don't give a damn... it's my blog. ;o)

The funeral was quick, and nice -- I didn't really know anyone but my Mom and some of my family. So, I quickly got out of there, after the food of course.

Just Outta High School and Workin' Like Mad

Ok... so I'm getting a little burned out.

I have worked so much in the past week or so, I'm ready to scream.

Now this isn't an invitation for everyone to start commenting on how much they work and that I "have no place to talk..." Ok, ok... I'm sure that there are tons of people out there that have worked more then me. That's great. The little kids in sweat shops, making your "Nikes" work more then both of us.

I've been working a lot, to compensate for when I go home for a week in July. I know, everyone is a little worried. I'm sure you're all concerned that I may not blog for a week. I mean, what would my readers do if I forgot to update you on the thrilling events that are my life? LOL Well, your concerns are legitimate... I probably won't blog. Look at it this way... I'll have TONS to talk about when I get back from the crazy house.

My parents house is crazy, not because of those that live there, but because of the unreal amount of chaotic drama that flows through it. Sometimes I'm glad that I live 750 miles away. It makes the craziness easier to dodge.

My Dad is doing better, but still doesn't feel SUPER great. My Mom is busy with her job and my younger brother (who is a handful to say the least). I figure that there'll be a whirlwind of running around when I get home. So, I think that I'll spend the week at the beach. *sigh* I can't wait... it'll be SOOO nice.

My buddy from high school is getting married while I'm there. That'll be weird. I haven't seen him in like 6 years or so. He's been dating the same girl for 8 years. WOW, that is just crazy to me. I can't imagine just DATING for 8 years. Geez.

I just realized that I've been graduated from high school for 7 years. I can't believe it. I mean, it's not that I miss it -- I hated high school.
It's just shocking.

My Dad really put it in perspective earlier today. Half of my productive life is over. Ugh.... makes me sick to think about it that way.

Pet the Peeves

I pretty much have three pet peeves. Well, at least three major categories. This isn't to say there only three things bug me, rather these three specific things really irritate me.

First, I can't stand liars. Now, it's important to clarify this. When a person is just teasin' or hassling another person, by saying something that's not true... (to me) that's not lying. I can handle that. What I'm talking about, is someone that looks at you in the face, and blatantly deceives you. They do this for their own benefit or to hurt you.

Secondly, I cannot stand people that "beat around the bush," so to speak. They have something that they want to say and they have to run circles around it, and expect you to guess what they're trying to get at. Personally, I don't understand why people can't spit it out. If you have something that you want to say to me. Just say it. I'm not that bad of a guy... I'm not going to kill you... or laugh at you, or hassle you... (too badly, ;o) )

Lastly, I absolutely loathe loud, obnoxious people that talk about anything and everything like they know everything about it. When a person enters a social scene and immediately starts mouthing off, like he/she knows everything about whatever anyone is talking about, I can't stand it. ESPECIALLY, if it's obvious that they have no clue about the topic. Instead, why couldn't they just shut up, and try listening for once. Maybe they'll learn something, and have something intelligent to say, next time the topic presents itself.

So, there you go... for me those are some gnarly traits for a person to have. What do you think? Anyone got some different peeves that are worse?

Worst Uncle Ever & A Tall Blond...?

My roommate says that he sees me ending up with a tall blond...?

Hmmmm.... I use to date a tall blond. She was AWESOME. She had the most fun personality. Really very smart and had a fantastic sense of humor. She was 5'11, had a great figure and was quite the handful socially. I had a lot of fun with her. I'm not sure I can remember what happened for us to split up, but needless to say, we did.

I've dated so many different types of girls, I'm pretty sure that I don't have a specific taste.

I've seriously dated:

  • 5'4, shorter curly brunette hair, slim body type

  • 6'0, long haired brunette hair, athletic body type

  • 5'6, medium length blond hair, slim body type

  • 5'11, long blond hair, medium body type

  • 5'1, medium length brunette hair, slim body type

  • 5'2, very short black hair, very slim body type

I think that most all of them have similar personalities. So, I guess I'm not physically picky. I'm more interested in intelligence, humor and personality in general. I like smart, funny girls that can handle humor ranging from intellectual to perverted.

I don't know... hmm... not even really sure I shared all of this. lol

Oh, I know! Any girls with some level of intelligence and a great personality... contact me! ;o)

Other then that, um... I'm going home to my parents house in July. That's going to be fun. I'll get to see my little niece. I'm such a crappy uncle. I've seen her like once since she was born. So, she'll hate me, I'm sure.

Well... it appears my friends, that "that" is that...

...It's really too short...

I heard the most horrible story today.

So, I have this friend that I've chatted with on and off since September of this year. Our friendship has been sorta spotty, cause well, we both only talk when we happen to be online at the same time, which isn't very often.

Well, today she logged on. This was sorta suprising because we hadn't spoken for a week or so. Our conversation was shocking to say the least!

I asked how she was doing, and she replied: "I'm soo sorry that I haven't spoken to you for a few days -- I have been through HELL!"

Initially I figured that there had been some kind of drama that happened with her friends or maybe something bad happened at work/school. Boy was I in for a surprise. Now when I tell this story, try to throw yourself in her shoes.

So, her friend sets her up on this date with some guy. She's a little hesitant... (who isn't on blind dates) but consented.

So she goes on this date, and apparently had a really good time. I don't remember the details of the date, but she said that she really enjoyed herself, and that the guy was really great. She was actually looking forward to having a second date.

Anyway... they started to head home and as they're driving through an intersection on a green light... a truck runs a red light and slams into them. (Hitting the driver-side of their vehicle) Apparently it hit HARD. She is really banged up, but is conscious enough to ask the guy if he's ok. He doesn't respond, and she later finds out that he was dead at the scene of the accident! People, I said DEAD!

She has an injured lung, kidney and a broken wrist. A damned miracle if you ask me!

For me, this is really a hard thing for me to swallow. She didn't know this guy very well... she wasn't in love with him, etc. But she had just spent an evening with him, talking and getting to know him. Neither of them had ANY idea that she was going to be the last person he spoke to, or saw, or even thought about in his life. I don't know this kid. But I feel such a deep sorrow for what happened to him. He is about my age, and he's dead. Think of all of the things that he will never experience. Think of his family. The lives of literally thousands of people are going to be affected to some degree because of this. He's dead cause someone was careless. Because of one split second decision to slip through a red light... this boy was removed from the lives of all the people that know him, love him... and actually COULD have known him and loved him in the future.

It just sickens me. Like I said, I don't know the kid, but it really saddens me to know that he was permanently robbed of the most valuable thing he possessed.

I don't want to depress everyone, or get all weird on anyone... so I'm sorry.

::Bless him and his family::

...sigh...

Yay for School -- It's Super Fun!

Three classes... that's all I need in order to graduate with my Bachelors. (Yay for me!) Naturally this upcoming semester is very exciting, I mean of course I should be graduating, right? I mean, who wouldn't just take all three classes and be done with their degree?

Is *V* going to take three classes and finish up, like a normal person? No!
Why, you ask? Oh, that's because one of the classes that I need isn't offered until NEXT semester.

Well, well, No matter right? There's a solution to this... simply talk to my counselor and find a class being offered this semester, that I can "trade." -- She quickly counters that I need to talk to the Dean of the department.

"Hmmm... never had to do that before... but OK..."

I just got an email from the Dean. He told me: "Tough Luck." I have to attend school for one more semester, because he thinks that it's important that I take "Strategic Use of Information Technology."

I'm telling you... school is one big conspiracy. They want me to attend an additional semester, so I'll have to pay for a parking pass, pay all of my lab fees, etc, all over again.

...bastards...

Oh well... "such is life." Full of disappointments, criticism and bills... with just a pinch of pleasure. *sigh*

Seinfeld & My Sick Fam

I'm back. Sorry about that suspensful wait. I'm sure that my amazing experience keep everyone at a gripping tension... until the get to read the next exciting blog from my life. LOL

Anyways... I didn't post for a long time, cause I had a lot of time off from work. It was nice, not having to be up so late, and actually having a relatively normal sleep pattern. However, I don't really get paid when I don't work. (Imagine that) So, I'm going to be MAJORLY poor for awhile.

A few things have happened that are worth mentioning. My Dad isn't doing so hot. He had 5 gal stones in his gal bladder. Yuck. The doctors said that it is likely that they've been in there, (causing him pain) for at least a year. But, you know "Dads," (Well at least mine) they are invincible. It sorta scary. My Dad is the most healthy person in the world. He's out running everyday, works out with weights, etc. He has always been this solid foundation that everyone counts on. You know, NOTHING can happen to him.... cause he IS invincible.

Well, anyways... they removed his gal bladder, and he's apparently doing better. I note all of this, cause I cannot recollect a single time in my entire life that my Dad has been sick from anything other then a cold/flu here and there. Sorta freaked me out to realize that my parents are mortal.

Speaking of surgery... my brother had his finger worked on. I apparently he beat the hell out of someone a year ago or something... and broke his finger. Well, they're just getting around to fixing it. They had to put a pin in it, and shave off of bunch of "scar-bone?" Yah, I called him the other day, and he was HATING LIFE. Poor kid. He said that it wasn't so bad, until the drugs wore off around 3AM. He woke up, sorta confused... "Why the HELL does my finger hurt...?" LOL... wow, that sucks. (Side Note: He must've really hit that kid hard.... damn....)

I helped K move the other day. She found a great place to live for SUPER cheap. She has an ENTIRE basement apartment for $250 a month. It has 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, two fireplaces, HUGE storage, makeshift kitchen, etc. Plus her utilities are included. I was amazed. It does sorta stink though. I think that it's really weird that other peoples houses smell weird. I'm sure my place smells weird to people that have never been there. Am I psychotic? Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Ever notice that when you walk into a house that you've never been in, it smells (often) uncomfortably weird? Why is that....?

I pay $325 for my ROOM and utilities. I need to find a better place to live. I'm really sick of living WITH people. Especially guys... they are S L O B S. I'm not really that much of a neat freak... but I mean, where did these people grow up? Call me crazy, but I was taught to pick up after myself. Things don't need to be immaculate, but relatively "picked-up" would be good.

I've been reading a few blogs. If find it relieving to know that I'm not the only person that's getting burned out with dating.

Oh, yah... I watched Sienfeld the other day. I've never really was a been a big fan of it... but I was DYING... it was really funny. I don't watch much TV, but for some reason, they two or three episodes that I watched were out of control funny. I'm not sure why I just tossed this in, but damn it... it's my blog and I'll write whatever gibberish I want.

Talk soon,

*V*
