The Mass of Swarming Zombies

Ok, I need to go somewhere.

Either that, or I need to do something different. I'm about to go batty... if I don't mix up some aspect of my life. Wow. I feel like I've been doing the same thing everyday for like 5 years.

Oh. Wait. I think that I have. ??

Anyways, I really need to go on a road trip, or hell... I'd buy a damned plane ticket. I don't care. I just need to see something different then my bland 'ole surroundings. Any destination suggestions?

I guess the fact that all of my friends have all either moved away, or gotten married, (Which is worse?) doesn't help the situation either.

Is it weird that I don't have this immense desire to get tied down anytime soon? Apparently I'm the only 25 year old guy in the world that thinks that way. (By world I mean the small bubble that surrounds me...)

So, I'm still on my healthy trip. I'm trying to cut out Pepsi too. Yes... yes... I know... but a drastic situation requires drastic measures. My roommates think that I'm crazy. Mainly cause I don't really look over weight. In fact, relatively speaking... I'm probably pretty "slim" looking. BUT, you gotta understand... that just because you "APPEAR" in shape... doesn't mean that you are.

I went to go try out racquet ball with one of my roommates the other day. It was my first time... so essentially, I had zero idea what I was doing. Fortunately for me he's some kind of pro. Ugh... In like 10 mins, I was heaving and hacking... I thought I was going to just implode and explode all at the same time.

Despite the fact that the game was obnoxiously tiring, I found that it was actually a lot of fun. Of course, since it WAS super tiring... I know that it was some pretty good cardio. We played for like and hour and a half. (Imagine how I was doing at the end... if I was about dead after 10 mins.)

Well, it was fun enough that I may buy a cheap racket ($20-$30) and maybe I'll buy some balls. (har, har)

On a side note: On the way to work today... I saw something rather odd. I had started to notice a increase in traffic on the road that I normally take to work. Well, I was at the point where I couldn't really take a detour, so I figured... "This should be interesting" (to see what was causing the hold up) I mean... it IS the middle of the night... so, I figured it had to be something really gnarly to actually cause traffic.

There was about 200 or more college-aged kids, out in front of some house, (and partially in the street) just standing there, staring at the closed door of the house. The weird thing was... I had my windows down, and didn't hear a peep out of any of them. It was completely silent. Even weirder then that was that the house's lights were completely off (inside and outside), and none of the kids had a flashlight or any sort of illumination. I was this huge, silent, dark mass of zombies. I swear. I was really sort of freaky.

...hmmm...

My Week -- Be Prepared to Be Amazed!

Today, I had to work at 6AM. Unfortunately for me, however, I didn't go to sleep until 9PM last night. Oh... yah.... laugh it up... That MAY appear to be an early bed time... but if I wait to go to bed until 9PM, that means that I would have been up for 22 hours. Yah... not so funny anymore, huh? ;o)

Yah, so... apparently I forgot about the body's need for sleep. Ugh... My eyes were BURNING when I woke up. But, here I am...

It's been a pretty slow week. I was contemplating not posting. Yes... I know... what drastic measures... simply due to a slow week. I thought better of it, however.

Lets see... what did I do this week?

  • Worked Monday from 6AM - 12PM

  • Built my roommate a computer (On his Tab of course)

  • Went to class Monday & Wednesday 4PM-5:15PM

  • Met with a new client for my business (Yay... Money, Money, Money!!)

  • Watched disc 1-5 of the "Lost" series

  • Worked Friday 12AM-10AM, Saturday & Sunday 12AM-12PM

  • Played a bit of WoW (Yah, I'm a computer dork on occasion)

Yah, that's about it. What a thrilling life I lead. Anyways... It was a really boring week.

The project we're going to do at school may prove to be interesting. Amazingly enough, I'm looking forward to it. (Wow... I AM a dork)

Sorry about this retarded post.

Add 3/4 Cup *V* and 1/4 Cup Waiter

So, this New Orleans thing is simply horrific. I'm sure everyone has heard and seen enough about it.

I enjoy reading Waiter Rant. I have a link to in on the Right side of my blog. He is truly a gifted writer and generally is entertaining to read.

His most recent post is called The God Who Drowns. Although, I don't agree with everything he says in this post, I do find that some of it very insightful and refreshing. He may not share the same beliefs as I do, but he shares the bottom line with me. Amidst the horrible chaos that often fills our world, there is hope. This hope is from the compassion, love and charity that occasionally exists in our society.

It is amazingly beautiful to witness. However, it's a sickening shame that it takes such a catastrophe for it to surface.

Here's a few quotes that I enjoyed from Waiter's post:

"The human heart is moved by weakness not by strength. It is our brokenness, not power, that binds us together. Perhaps our weakness will be our salvation."

"Outside the church the world goes by. Someone blasts rap music from their car. I hear a man and woman argue. A girl laughs. I smile to myself. Lovers still cry out in joyous embrace, babies are born, children play, boys stride onto the world of affairs, and old men still dream dreams. The world, in spite of everything, is unfolding as it should."

"I hear the old woman get out of her pew. I watch her travel down the length of the nave. She looks at me and nods. Her eyes have seen everything I'm going to see. She's wisdom wrapped up in infirmity. Perhaps, just perhaps, in the paradox of God's weakness lies his greatness and the seeds of our own."

The world is really a conglomerate of inflated worthlessness. Only when we can stop the bickering and step back to appreciate the things that matter, do we display the maturity and potential that makes us worth our existence.

I hope that we can all remember those suffering in the Gulf.

"Sir, Please Step Away from the Eraser!" & "Milk Was a Bad Choice!"

Do you ever feel like you just need to totally wipe the entire slate clean, and start from scratch?

I don't mean when you're drawing a picture or cooking a fancy dessert. I mean in life.

I had this thought the other day. It just sorta popped into my head. I was just sitting there in bed... waiting to fall asleep. (At 2PM... lol) I was sorta thinking about how depressed I was a few weeks ago. Trying to figure out a solution to my little problem.

Initially, I started thinking about just pulling up stakes, and taking off... without a trace. Wow. Think about how liberating that would be. Essentially when I moved here, that's what I did. I showed up at my new apartment one day... didn't know a soul, and dove right in!

It was really rough for the first few months, but eventually I managed to meet some people and well... here I am today, totally popular. (HA!)

The more I thought about taking off and starting over, the more I felt it was like "running away" from the situation. Then I thought...

"What the hell *V*, why do you keep calling this a 'problem?'"

It's not a problem. I'm retarded... (that's the problem... :o) ) I just realized, I just need to stop... take a step back and reassess my life. Oh, yah... and I needed somewhere to vent.

So, naturally my blog is a good place... but I really only am motivated to update on the weekends while I'm at work. So, during the week... I'm going to hit the gym... and channel what I have left of the frustration into some weights.

I heard something the other day that actually motivated me a lot to hit the gym again. Me and some of my friends all met up to go and play a little "Ultimate Frisbee." (It's like football... but with a Frisbee.)

Anyways... I found out that some of the girls were chit chatting while the were watching us "men" out getting sweaty with the Frisbee. Anyways the conversation was relayed to me like this:

K says: "You know, I never really thought about it before, but *V* is really sort of a big guy..."

L says: "Yah... he is. But you should of saw him about a year ago, when he was still working out. He was really big back then."

Yah... so, that motivated me. I guess I've really slacked off. I use to go like 4 or 5 days a week. I would be there for like 2 hours. Then I had to cool it down a bit for finals that semester... and well, after finals were over I leveled off at about 0 times a week.

Ugh.

Ok... so I'm not really "fat." In fact I weigh exactly the same amount I did while I was going to the gym. (200lbs) I just wouldn't say that I have a "toned" stomach or .... um... any portion of my body. :o)

So, I went to the gym last Tuesday. I mixed myself up a protein shake and headed out. They just built a brand new "Gold's Gym" across the street from my house. It's touted as the "Largest Gold's Gym in the world." I don't know... that's what the sign says. :o)

So, I worked out a bit... did some free weights, and a few back machines... and then I decided to get some cardio in. I hopped on the treadmill, and started lumbering along.

It's important to note, that I ran cross-country in High School. I was actually pretty good. However, it's also important to note, that was 7 years ago. lol

At about 10 minutes, I was about to collapse. I was done. I was SOOO sick, I thought I was going to throw up the entire 4 minute ride home. I mean literally, I was planning my "open door, barf, spit a few times, and finish my left turn" strategy. That's how bad I felt. Ugh... cold sweat, gag reflexes and all. Yuck. I hate that.

For those wondering at home, apparently 9 months or so of zero work out and lots of crappy fast food, has a way of deteriorating one's health and endurance.

So, remember class, when working back into a healthy lifestyle: "Pace yourself."

Oh... one more thing, milk in a protein shake... is a bad choice.

(Name that movie!)

P.S. "Fancy Dessert??" Where do I get this crap? LOL!!

The Curse of Laundry

Ok, I totally have to tell you about my newest pet peeve.

Amazingly enough, only recently have I discovered how much I HATE to do laundry. Well, actually... hold on here.

I don't really hate the washing/drying part. That's not too bad, cause I mean, it's refreshing to have clean clothes. What I hate, is FOLDING.

I don't know what my deal is, but I'm serious.... I just can stand folding. There are a few problems with folding. Number one, it's time consuming. It takes forever and I never have the time to do it. Granted, if I DO have the time... the last thing I want to spend it doing, is folding my clothes that I'm going to eventually wear again, and have to wash again... and naturally fold again.

Another thing is, I don't think that I do it "right." I deduce this from the fact that all my clothes are super wrinkled... even after I fold them. Occasionally someone will try to "teach" me the "proper" way to fold this or that, but it takes like 2 minutes each item.

Oh... and I hate ironing too.

Needless to say, I have a rather large pile of laundry on my floor right now. I'm paying a $100 for someone to fold all of it, and iron my work shirts. Any takers?

Winning the Fight Against SPAM

So, I had to turn on some verification feature on the comments page. (Thanks Flimsy for the advice) Out of no where I started getting slammed with ton spam comments. This must mean my blog is becoming famous... wooowhooo!

Wow, what a major let down. I check the blog and see I have 15 comments!! Only to find out half of them are about penis enlargements. ugh.... ;o)

Sorry for the extra step in leaving comments, but I just got sick of logging in everyday to clear out the spam. Thanks for continuing to read, comment, and update your own blogs. I absolutely love them.
